Dr. Pallab Sinha Mahapatra received his Ph.D. and B.E. from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Jadavpur University in 2014 and 2007 respectively.

Ph.D. Scholars

Mr. lmdad Uddin Chowdhury is a Ph.D. candidate under the guidance of Dr. Pallab Sinha Mahapatra and Dr. Ashis Kumar Sen. He received his M. Tech and B. Tech from Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati and Jorhat Engineering College in 2016 and 2013 respectively. His research interests include (not limited to) microfluidics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics.

Tibin Thomas is a Ph.D. candidate under the guidance of Dr. Pallab Sinha Mahapatra. He has completed B-Tech and M-Tech in Mechanical Engineering from the College of Engineering Trivandrum and IIT Gandhinagar in 2013 and 2016 respectively. His research interest includes two-phase heat transfer, surface engineering, water harvesting, molecular dynamics, etc.

Subhashis Patari is a PMRF Ph.D. candidate under the guidance of Dr. Pallab Sinha Mahapatra. He has completed his 1st three years of B.Tech from NIT Agartala from 2014 to 2017 and the final year of B.Tech from IIT Madras in 2017 to 2018. His research interests include microfluidics, surface wettability, and condensation.

Siddhant Mohapatra is a PMRF Ph.D. candidate under the guidance of Dr. Pallab Sinha Mahapatra. He is currently working in the broad area of collective dynamics. He has completed B-Tech in Mechanical Engineering from NIT Silchar in 2019. His research interest includes modeling of the collective behavior of microswimmers and microfluidics.

J.S.S. Tejaswi is a Ph.D. candidate under the guidance of Dr. Arvind Pattamatta and Dr. Pallab Sinha Mahapatra. His research interests include surface wettability, evaporation characteristics of pure and nanofluid droplets. He completed his B.Tech in 2014 from RGUKT-Nuzvid in Mechanical Engineering and M.Tech in 2016 from NIT Hamirpur in Thermal Engineering.

Gayathri is currently pursuing her Ph.D. under the guidance of Dr. Pallab Sinha Mahapatra and Dr. Tuhin Subhra Santra. She completed her B Tech in Electronics and Communications Engineering from the College of Engineering and Management, Punnapra, in 2015, and M Tech in Biomedical Engineering from National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra, in 2018. Her research interests include single-cell technology, drug delivery systems, Bio-NEMS/ MEMS, brain drug delivery, etc.
MS Scholars

Naveen Kumar Agrawal, is an MS candidate under the guidance of Dr. Pallab Sinha Mahapatra. He is currently working in the broad area of collective dynamics. He has completed B-Tech in Mechanical Engineering from SSTC (FET) Bhilai in 2016. His research interest includes collective motion, fluid dynamics, micro-swimmers, micro-fluidics, and self-propelled systems.

Himanshu Pathak is an MS (Research) scholar under the guidance of Dr. Pallab Sinha Mahapatra in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He graduated with B.Tech. (Mechanical) in 2017 from NIT Uttarakhand. He is currently working in the area of condensation on deformable substrates. His research interests include surface engineering, two-phase heat transfer.
